Issues: Children’s aid society; Quality of care
A woman worried about the health and safety of a young relative complained to us that the local children’s aid society (CAS) had done “nothing” in response to her concerns. Our Children and Youth Unit contacted the CAS, which provided us with information about the steps they had taken to address the woman’s concerns, and the follow-up they had done with her. When we spoke with her again, she confirmed the CAS had been in touch, and she now believed the youth was getting the help they needed. She thanked our staff for ensuring that her concerns did not go unaddressed.
